Celebrate Diversity Month was initiated in 2004 and is a time to recognize and understand our differences, be it gender, race, ethnicity, faith, sexual orientation, and other factors, while honoring the common essence of humanity. Please check out CultureVision™, an online, easy to access resource, to gain better understanding of the beliefs and culture of our diverse community to enhance patient care and teammate relations.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Muslim Affinity Group 

The Muslim Affinity Group envisions connecting employees, students and faculty together to provide educational and networking opportunities for anyone interested in learning about the Muslim culture. The group will work collectively work with all affinity groups to show that Muslims as well as all other groups are important members of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist who contributes to and values the success of the institution.

Goals  

  1. Provide support and serve as a resource to patients, providers, faculty, staff, and learners who are Muslim  
  2. Collaborate with all other groups to increase understanding and help eliminate the misconceptions and stereotypes about Muslims and all the other groups

Advocate Health is elevating the importance of de-normalizing and preventing workplace violence and supporting those affected by it. April 2 – World Autism Awareness Day: raises awareness for those with autism that seeking to improve their lives and the acceptance of them in society     

April 14 – Vaisakhi: It is an ancient harvest festival in Punjab, India, celebrated by Sikhs and Hindus. It is the main Sikh holiday.  

April 9 to April 10* – Eid al-Fitr: The holiday that marks the end of Ramadan. To end the fast, a big meal is its primary event.   

April 22 – Earth Day: holiday that applauds the planet we live on and all it does for us; Earth Day is observed by more than 192 nations.  

April 22 to April 30 – Passover: This holiday spans 7-days and commemorates the Israelites being freed from slavery in Egypt.
