Summer 2025 Cohort

Strengthen your impact: Apply to the Access & Opportunity Certificate Program. This program helps you explore behaviors, leadership skills and strategies for becoming champions of access and opportunity and fostering a culture of belonging. Starting July 8 and going through August 12, the next program will take place once a week via Microsoft Teams virtual platform for six consecutive weeks from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. (CST) /9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (EST). Please obtain your direct supervisor’s approval before applying for the program. All teammates are welcome to apply. To provide a good environment for discussion and collaboration, program size may be limited. You must apply by April 15th for a chance to be selected.

Program Description

The Access & Opportunity Certificate Program is designed to engage teammates, to promote a work culture that uplifts all, and provide strategies for enhancing skill-sets for growth and development.  Teammates will receive the opportunity to explore behaviors that will elevate performance, empathy, and the ability to meet people where they are – which will in turn continue to transform our patient experience, quality outcomes and workforce culture of engagement.

Program Objectives

  • Enhance skill-sets in workforce and care delivery practices
  • Leverage the importance of lifting everyone up for optimal impact with teammate engagement
  • Understand how to minimize assumptions and judgments in decision-making
  • Enhance interpersonal effectiveness in the work environment
  • Develop a process for lifelong learning  

An Award-Winning Program

Advocate Health was awarded with the 2017 Gold Award for Excellence in Workforce Management by the Brandon Hall Group, for its efforts in developing and implementing the Certificate Program.

Program Logistics

The Program is scheduled to meet once per week via Microsoft Teams virtual platform for six consecutive weeks (July 8 – August 12) from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. (CST)/9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (EST)

  • Applications must be submitted by April 15, 2025
  • All teammates are welcome to apply

Program Eligibility Requirements

  • Commitment to attending the Program in its entirety; you are allowed to miss one day EXCEPT Day 1 (Mandatory attendance is required for the Program Orientation/Day 1)
  • Teammate must be in good standing – no disciplinary actions taken or pending, including counseling for improved performance (e.g. written, final written, etc.)
  • Your direct supervisor’s approval is required for all applicants to the Program. Obtaining this approval is the applicant’s responsibility
  • Applicant statement of acceptance of this responsibility is required to submit this application

Program Notification of Acceptance
All applicants will be notified of their status in the Program the week of May 5th, 2025
The application process will open again in the Fall of 2025. Please apply for the next Program offering in the event you were not accepted.
