Teammates

At Atrium Health, our teammates are our most valuable resource. We know how important it is that every day we recognize and honor the excellent work you do for our patients, your teammates and the community. The Living Our Commitments (LOC) award program is one way to recognize work that exemplifies Our Culture Commitments: belong, work as one, trust, innovate and excellence

Nomination Process

Teammates who wish to nominate a teammate or manager, please visit the Recognition & Rewards platform to complete a Living Our Commitments award nomination form. Nominations should show examples of how the teammate has demonstrated extraordinary attention to our Commitments:

Once a nomination is submitted, the nominator’s direct manager receives the request for approval. If the nominator’s direct manager approves the nomination:

  1. The nominee’s manager will receive an email notification with a link to print a certificate of appreciation to award the nominee in a team huddle.
  2. The awarded points will be deposited into the nominee’s Recognition & Reward points bank that may be redeemed for gift cards or merchandise through the Recognition and Rewards platform.

Note: Not all nominations lead to certificate awards. Managers have the discretion to approve teammates for rewards, or they may choose another form of recognition such as an eCard or Certificate of Appreciation, also available on the Recognition & Rewards platform. As a courtesy to the teammate who made the nomination, managers are encouraged to follow-up and let that teammate know what form of recognition was given. The points for the award are purchased out of the nominator’s department budget.

How to Redeem Points

If you receive a certificate – congratulations! We encourage you to keep your certificate as a memento of appreciation.

Attached to the certificate will be directions on how to redeem your points. Points will be added to your account, which is located on the Recognition and Rewards platform. You may choose an item (including gift cards) or you may let your points build and choose a higher-value item later.

Note: If a teammate redeems points as part of the Recognition & Rewards program, we are required by IRS regulations to tax any gift card (of any value) and any merchandise worth $100 or more. Cash awards will also be taxed according to IRS regulations.

A file is sent to payroll bi-monthly. If you receive a cash award, or redeem points for a gift card of any value or merchandise worth $100 or more, you will see a line item on your paystub titled "Taxable Fringe Benefits – TFB."
