GED/HiSET and ESL Classes will be offered at no charge to all Atrium Health teammates and contract staff who wish to improve their English-speaking skills and/or earn their GED or HiSET high school equivalency test.
ESL and GED/HiSet classes will be offered online. Each class will be customized to each students’ needs.

To ensure student success, consistent attendance is required for each class during the 16-week course. Each week, there will be two, 2-hour remote/online learning classes.
Students will learn how to develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills as well as basic computer literacy. Upon completion, students should be able to communicate more effectively in English and demonstrate increased readiness for work or continuation of studies.
For teammates with international education backgrounds: Those who complete the ESL course will have the option to have their international transcripts evaluated at no cost.

This course prepares students to pass either the GED or HiSET high school equivalency tests. Topics include math, reading, writing, social studies and science. Upon completion, students should be able to apply critical academic skills to real-life situations, and a deeper understanding of math and language arts.
Classes prepare learners to successfully pass the nationally recognized high school equivalency assessments.
