When Will Benefits Providers Receive My Enrollment Information and I can Access Services?
After you have submitted your benefits enrollment in CORE Connect, your elections will be sent to the appropriate benefits carriers. Carriers will issue ID cards as applicable. Please note, benefits files are transmitted once weekly to benefits carriers. The effective date of your coverage will be your date of hire and not the date you enroll.

What Happens if I Need to Access the Benefit Before the Carrier Receives my Enrollment Information?
If you need to seek health care, have a prescription filled or use a benefit before your enrollment has processed with the carrier, appropriate reimbursement will be issued per the benefit plan. You may contact the Benefits Service Center with questions at 1-800-964-4780 Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST.

Refer to the Eligibility Chart for the effective date of other Atrium Health Floyd benefits.

What Should I Expect for Premium Deductions?
Your benefits enrollment event remains open in CORE Connect for 30 days. Depending on when you enroll will determine when your premium deductions begin. For example, if you complete your enrollment after the first pay period ends, your paycheck will not include a premium deduction. However, after your enrollment is submitted, the system will reflect day 1 coverage, and premiums will be retroactively collected from your next paycheck.

How Do I Access Benefits ID Cards?
Once your benefits elections are completed with the carriers, ID cards will be issued by the carriers, as applicable, and mailed to your home address.

Changing Benefits During the Year

Qualified life events include:

  • Birth or adoption of a child
  • Marriage or divorce
  • Death of a covered dependent
  • A dependent reaching age 26
  • Change in employment status for you or a covered dependent (such as moving from fulltime to part-time employment, or loss of a job, which may result in loss of other coverage)

Call the Atrium Health Navicent Benefit Service Center at 1-800-964-4780 or log into CORE Connect to enter the life event and update your benefit elections. Appropriate documentation must be submitted to verify the event and any added dependents. Failure to do so will result in loss of coverage.

Having a Baby? — Action Needed

Log in to CORE Connect or call the Benefit Service Center at 1-800-964-4780 to process your Qualified Life Event. Add the dependent to People To Cover and select the desired coverage. You MUST submit the newborn’s birth certificate to the Alight Dependent Verification Services within 31 days of date of birth, or the newborn will be dropped from coverage.
