Thank you for receiving a COVID-19 vaccine to help protect our teammates, patients and the communities we serve. The best way to prevent the spread of this pandemic is for everyone to receive a vaccine. Thank you for doing your part.
- For your safety, please wait 15 minutes after receiving the vaccine before being cleared to leave. This is per CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) guidelines.
- While you wait, teammates will have their appointment scheduled for a second dose. We will then send you a reminder of your next appointment.
- It’s important to receive both doses of the vaccine from the same manufacturer. The first shot gets your immune system ready, helping it to recognize the virus and fight it if you are exposed. The second shot will strengthen the immune response. Missing the second dose could mean you won’t build full protection against the virus.
- Make sure you have your vaccination card completed.
- Consider taking a picture of the card with your phone or storing the card in a place that will be easy to access when you receive your second dose.

- Like the flu vaccine, you could have muscle pain, fatigue, low grade fever, chills, headache, or joint pain. Side effects should be mild or moderate and will go away in a few days.
- As a reminder, teammates should not go to work if they have a fever. They should also take the COVID-19 Symptom Screening to determine if they need to be tested.
- If you have a side effect not listed above, call Teammate Health at 704-631-0200 and listen for the options.
- If symptoms last longer than 48 hours, it is possible you got COVID-19 before you got the vaccine and need to take the COVID-19 Symptom Screening to guide you appropriately.
