P. 3
Dear Reader,
When our patients come to Atrium Health, they know they can count on us to
welcome them exactly as they are and care for them exactly as they need. They
know there’s someone on our team who can warmly greet them in their native
language, a nurse who may look like someone in their own family and teammates
everywhere who truly care about their well-being … teammates who represent
many walks of life.
At Atrium Health, we know we’re better able to serve everyone in our
communities when we reflect everyone in those communities. This also means
we welcome people from everywhere, of every identity and every culture – as
patients and as teammates – to a place where they know they’ll be respected,
appreciated and valued for who they are. We do this not because it sounds nice
or looks good on paper, but because it’s the right thing to do. We want to be an
organization that opens its arms to everyone – our friends, neighbors, loved ones
– because we care. To us, this is the very core of our mission to improve health,
elevate hope and advance healing – FOR ALL.
EUGENE A. WOODS
President & Chief Executive Officer And for this, we have been named a best employer for diversity, for new grads
and for women by Forbes. We have been honored with Equity of Care awards
by both the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the American
Hospital Association. Furthermore, our Divisional Diversity Councils have been
recognized among the top 10 in the nation.
But it’s certainly not about the accolades. It’s about the difference we are
making in people’s lives. Because, at Atrium Health, we’re fully dedicated to the
powerful notion that we can, together, make this a better world by respecting our
differences and celebrating the ties that bind us.
This is only made possible by our teammates, whose commitment and passion
bring our mission to life each day, and we hope you enjoy learning more about
their efforts in our Diversity Impact Report.
Thank you for all you do in support of Atrium Health and our FOR ALL mission.
Warm Regards,
KINNEIL COLTMAN, DHA
