Teammates

At Atrium Health, we strive to meet the many needs of our patients and families. The Language Access team is committed to facilitating the delivery of healthcare in ways that are culturally sensitive, effective and easy to understand. Language Services strives to bridge communication gaps between patients and providers, reduce barriers to accessing quality healthcare, and advocate for patients and family members with Limited English Proficiency (LEP). Our mission is that the care experience of the LEP patient will reflect as closely as possible to that of the non-LEP patient.

Our Atrium Health Language Access team includes over 120 professional medical interpreters that are culturally competent, have a vast knowledge of medical terminology, and interact with patients and medical professionals on a daily basis.

All of Atrium Health's care locations are equipped with interpreting services, available to patients and families in need, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in a broad scope of languages which includes American Sign Language. This is achieved via virtual visits, in-person interpreting, video interpreting, and phone interpreting.

Teammates, visit PeopleConnect for more information about Language Access services. If you are outside the Atrium Health network, you must log in to GoRemote. If you need help setting up GoRemote, start here.
