With the Atrium Health Navicent health plans, teammates have the opportunity to save pretax funds in savings and spending accounts per eligibility requirements. 

In 2022, the Atrium Health Navicent Health Savings Account (HSA) will be managed by Bank of America. If you already have an HSA managed by Alight Smart Choice and want to transfer your funds to Bank of America, complete the HSA Bank Transfer Authorization Form.

Options Available with Choice Plan

Health Savings Account (HSA) 

The HSA is yours to save for current and future healthcare-related expenses, such as your deductible, coinsurance and prescription medications. Your HSA is an important component of retirement savings. Teammates can make direct contributions to this account from their paycheck and one-time contributions. For participants of the Choice Plan, the Atrium Health Navicent COVID-19 Vaccine Incentive contribution will be deposited into the HSA. Atrium Health savings accounts are administered by Bank of America.

To access and monitor your account(s):

1. Log in at Bank of America
2. Access via the Bank of America HSA mobile app

The maximum IRS contribution for the year includes the sum of all teammate and employer contributions. Teammates age 55 or older are allowed an additional “catch-up” contribution of $1,000.

Remember, preventive care, labs and most preventive medications are covered 100% - you do not pay for preventive care (Please note, that some services are not covered when Out of Network

Your Health Savings Account (HSA) is the key to the Choice Plan – you can build your savings 

  • Atrium Health Navicent will make a biweekly contribution to your HSA  
  • It is important for you to save in your HSA by putting in enough to meet your deductible and maximize your savings 
  • Dollars in your HSA are not taxed when you put them in or take them out for medical purposes 
  • Your HSA is a great savings vehicle for medical expenses now and in retirement 
  • HSA Contributions may be changed throughout the year in CORE Connect   

Atrium Health Navicent Annual Contribution 

To help fund your account, members of the Choice Plan will receive an annual contribution that is contributed each pay period: 

  • Updated! $675 (or $25.96 per pay period) for Teammate-Only Plan 
  • Updated! $1,350 (or $51.92 per pay period) for Family Plans 
  • The biweekly contribution is deposited into your account after your coverage becomes effective.

Medicare and Your Health Savings Account  
Atrium Health Navicent Health Plan participants should contact Medicare 6 to 12 months prior to turning age 65 to learn about options for healthcare coverage and rules for contributing to a Health Savings Account when Medicare eligible.

  • Georgia Cares is available to anyone for FREE  
  • Teammates may make appointments for 1:1 phone calls or in-person meetings with a specialist

  • Georgia Cares can answer detailed questions about Medicare that Social Security Offices may not be able to answer  

Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account (LPFSA)

The LPFSA allows teammates to set aside additional pretax dollars to help pay for planned, qualified dental and vision expenses that occur during a 12-month period. This account is use it or lose it. 

IRS Maximum Contribution: $2,750.

Options Available with Basic Plan

Incentive Account

The Incentive Account is a Health Reimbursement Account. For teammates that are enrolled in the Basic Plan, Atrium Health Navicent will deposit earned COVID-19 Vaccine Incentives into this account during the year. Funds can be used to help pay for qualified medical, prescription, dental and vision expenses. Unused funds rollover from year to year. Please note: Enrollment in the Incentive Account is automatic, so no additional enrollment is needed when enrolling in the Basic Plan. Please review the COVID-19 Vaccination FAQs on PeopleConnect for more details.

Important Note for 2021 FSA plans administered by Alight:

2021 FSA plan design for members who are enrolled in an FSA remain the same.

  • Healthcare expenses may be incurred from January 1, 2021 until March 15, 2022 
  • Healthcare claims must be submitted by April 30, 2022
